Hi Everybody!
We had a great turnout in June, practically no turnout in July, and hopefully we'll get back in the groove and fit in everybody's schedules this time around!
For the August meet, I've heard a few suggestions. I want input on this from you all, that way we can do what you want, and most of you will hopefully be able to attend!
For this meet, I've hear suggestions such as:
1) Track day somewhere (somebody mentioned this @ our June meet)
2) Drive along the Gorge or something
3) Bowling! (I know of at least 5 members who like to bowl!)
Dates are open. I think late August would be best for maximum future notice. Let me know when is best for you to avoid conflicts!
Post away!

I'm not really a Team Sol OR member, but if I'm around I'd like to meet with you guys, so here's my $.02:
A track day would be the best. Drive along the Gorge would be 2nd.
Track days are fairly hard to set up I believe, if no one's done one before. But not sure about that.
I'm pretty familiar with Highway 14 (WA side), and it's a really nice drive. Great scenery, and great curves.
Me and bowling don't get along too well, but I'd still be down to meet up with the folks south of the border.
Maybe later in the day on the 17th? I only say later because I want to autocross in the morning

1. Gorge
2. Bowling
3. Track day... My trany needs work and I'm being a woossie!
It appears that the ticket I got on the way to the last meet will be dismissed but I will need to go and appear in Astoria.

NinjaDogg: Got your email regarding the August meet. Here's my $.02:
Highway 14 is a great driving highway. It's also pretty scenic. That would be my first choice. If you guys are looking for something for more photo ops and more scenery, the waterfall drive on the OR side is wonderful (the old highway off I-84), but fairly crowded and not very quick. Scenic, but not the most fun to drive fast on.
There isn't a lot to do on Highway 14 though. There's a good place to eat called the Big River Grill in Stevenson. The Bonneville Dam and the Gorge Interpretive Center both are mildly interesting, but I don't know how much fun that would be for a Sol meet. I think just a meet up, drive on 14 (which can be as long as you want...the highway is fun all the way out to The Dalles), and lunch somewhere would be good.

Both sides of the gorge are beautiful. There's Beacon Rock on the WA side, easy climb, great view. Why not go up one side, cross the river on the Bridge of the Gods and come back the other? What day? We'd really like to get together with you guys. We can't make it the 24th, we'll be showing one of the cars at Oswego Heritage Car show. Any other day is great.

Hmm, I like the idea of going down both sides of the Gorge. How far down is the Bridge of the Gods? Stonehenge? Big River Grill in Stevenson? I'm thinking maybe we'll drive down the Washington side, cross the bridge, and come back on the Oregon side.
Regarding the date, I think end of August would be good, like maybe the 30th, or 31st if a Sunday is better for more people. Thanks for all the suggestions, and don't forget to check back often! (Or post any sort of message, for that matter.) =o)
